Returns and Refunds from Fresh Cargo

Cancelling an Order within 7 working days

Under the UK Distance Selling Regulations, you have 7 working days (from the day after you receive your goods) to cancel the contract for your order with us. If we do not receive the cancelled order back, we may arrange to have them collected at your cost.

In all cases, the items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. All goods will be inspected on return.

If you decide to cancel your order with Alternative Clothing Ltd, you must let us know in writing [email is fine], quoting the order number to info@alternative.co.uk

In this case we will issue you with a full refund however you will need to return the entire order at your cost if the order has already been dispatched.

Footwear and clothing returns and exchange policy

Free returns are available within 7 days for:

  1. All footwear (Shoes must not be worn)
  2. Exchanging a clothing item for a different size or colour
  3. Exchanging a footwear item for a different size or colour

You must return the goods via Royal Mail signed for second class. Please obtain proof of postage (a certificate of posting is available free of charge from the Post Office).

This should be kept in a safe place in case you need to claim compensation from the carrier. We regret that we cannot accept responsibility for goods in transit from our customers.

Please allow 2 days from the day the parcel arrives for your refund to be processed. We will email you to let you know once your parcel has been received and your refund is complete.

Unfortunately free returns are not available for clothing items that do not require an exchange for a different size or colour.

When sending clothing or shoe items for exchange there will be a charge for the 2nd delivery, we will contact you for payment before shipping.

Please enclose the following with your goods:

  • Name
  • Contact Number
  • Order number
  • State if you require a full refund or exchange for a different size.

General returns policy

For returns made outside the Distance Selling Regulations and our clothing and footwear policy, we will refund the monetary value of the goods returned to us, at the price you purchased them. This includes sale items within 21 days. We will issue you with a full refund however you will need to return the entire order at your cost. We advise you use a recorded or signed for delivery service and accept no liability if goods are lost or stolen while in transit.

Original Condition - Clothing and Footwear must have no visible signs of wear or damage. Please ensure you don't wear deodorant, perfume or anything that could leave a mark/scent when trying on products. Goods must come in their original packaging intact. All goods will be inspected on return and any item in an unsuitable condition will be sent back to you.

Postage - We strongly recommend that returns are sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class Recorded. Alternative Clothing Ltd accepts no responsibility or liability for returns lost in transit, it is your responsibility to ensure arrival. Please note that the costs for returning the item to us are unrefundable, unless you are returning goods:

Within 7 days:

  • a shoe item
  • clothing to exchange for another size
  • colour because of an error on our part

Within 30 days:

  • because it is damaged or defective

Free Gifts & Reduced Items - If you've received a free/reduced gift with your order and subsequently return item(s) which entitled you to the offer then you must also return the free/reduced gift. If you wish to keep the free gift you will be charged the current or remaining RRP.

Faulty/Damaged Product - In the rare event of faulty/damaged item(s) you can return them back to us within 21days of delivery. You are entitled to a replacement product, a product of equal value or a refund. You will be refunded the postage if returning a faulty/damaged product.

Be sure to include a note explaining the reason why you wish to return the goods, whether you would prefer us to send you a replacement or process a refund, and your contact details in the event of any queries. Please note we are only able to replace identical products

Processing of returns

We aim to process the returned items promptly. However, during busy periods, please allow up to 21 days for your refund or replacement to be actioned. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase.

Please note that the costs for returning the item to us are un-refundable, unless you are returning:

  • a shoe item
  • clothing to exchange for another size
  • colour because of an error on our part
  • because it is damaged or defective

In these cases we will be happy to refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and we'll reimburse your costs in returning it to us. Please ensure you enclose the receipted postage cost.

The goods are your responsibility until they reach our warehouse. Please ensure you package your return to prevent any damage to the items or boxes. We are not responsible for any items that are returned to us in error.

Any shoes returned to Alternative Clothing Ltd must not be worn.

Returns are free for all footwear products.

We recommend you obtain proof of posting.

Exchanges

We can only offer exchanges on the following;

  • For all footwear (Shoes must not be worn)
  • Exchanging a clothing item for a different size or colour
  • Exchanging a footwear item for a different size or colour

For more information please refer to the section on our Footwear and clothing returns and exchange policy. All exchanges will incur an additional postage charge.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer exchanges on any other items at this time. You will need to return the unwanted item to us for processing first and then place a new order.
